The European Union’s poorest member state has joined a growing list of nations to not permitted smoking in bars and restaurants. It also agreed to ban smoking outside nurseries and schools and at stadiums during sports and cultural events.

The move was appreciated by health experts and also nonsmokers. More than 40 per cent of the adult inhabitants smokes in the Balkan country.

Inspectors will enforce fines of up to 5,000 levs ($3,300) for a first violation and up to 10,000 levs for a repeat offense for bar-owners or managers tolerating smoking in restricted places. Smokers who break the legislation face up to 500 levs for a first violation, which could be doubled for repeat violations.

Businesses, already hit by the economic drop, have asked for a three-year reprieve for restaurants, bars and cafes, and even for nightclubs to be made total free.

best quality gauloises cigaretteThe advocates of proposition 19, the law that tried to legalize marijuana in California, must be turning cartwheels at the recent news of University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. It’s especially ironic coming just a few weeks after the Federal attacked and even shutdown of Oaksterdam University, the secretly run school in Oakland, California that teaches students how to grow and crop the much derided cannabis herb.

A clinic investigation of 30 adults suffering from Multiple Sclerosis appears to have demonstrated its new ability to reduce it and the pain, when in comparison to a placebo.

Multiple Sclerosis is a worse disease that affects the nerve fibers and also can reduces their ability to transmit correctly, a little like an electrical cable with worn isolation. Smoking Cigarettes and Unhealthful Foods, Americans Life Style

Monday, May 14th, 2012

cheap karelia cigaretteLetter writer Gilbert Ross suggests that there is no comparison between eating pizza and smoking cigarettes. All of us know that eating meat can increase risk for cancer, heart disease and even premature death. In fact, processed meat and other unhealthful foods kill much more Americans every year than does smoking tobacco.

But this isn’t just my point of view. A large body of investigation discovered the link between processed meat and people’s bad health. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s dietary recommendations noted that the link between processed meat and remediable cancer, and the American Institute for Cancer Research recommended to avoid processed meats.

With obesity people rates estimated to reach 42 percent by end of 2030, more Americans than ever are at risk for cardiovascular disease, diabetes and of course heart disease. Science and common sense connect this increase to poor nutrition, comprising a continual rise in eating of meat and even cheese.

President Obama is a model for millions of Americans and has the power to persuade what inhabitants eat every day. When he caution organized public events, he has a big responsibility to set an example of healthful eating, for the sake of everyone’s health.

discount lucky strike cigaretteDoylestown Township will no longer engage employees who use cigarettes and other tobacco products, joining other employers through the country by attempting to lower healthcare costs. Job seekers looking for new work with Doylestown Township will need to quit smoking and smokeless tobacco products. That’s because the township recently approved a personnel legislation that would exclude tobacco smokers from employ.

Township supervisors wanted to make sure they were on strong legal property before they took an important step of engaging only tobacco-free employees.

“Is there any responsibility to that?” Supervisor Ryan Manion asked when the control panel first considered the changes in April.

Their lawyer reported the legislation was legal in Pennsylvania.

“Smoking or non-smoking has never been considered as a protected class,” township solicitor Jeff Garton told the board.

Pennsylvania is in the group of 21 states that have no definite workplace discrimination protections for smokers. Legislators in 29 other states and the District of Columbia have passed ordinances “promoting smokers to a protected class,” declared the American Lung Association, which opposes such laws.

In Doylestown Township, any new government employee will be required to not use tobacco, which includes smoking cigarettes or using smokeless tobacco or any other tobacco form, Supervisor Barbara Lyons explained Tuesday. The new legislation would be applied at work and at home.

The requirement will affect any new employee engaged after January 1, 2012. The township doesn’t plan to hire additional employees now, but township manager Stephanie Mason added that they wanted the new smoke-free law in place when a position became vacant.

Current employees would not be forced to fulfill with the new regulation, Garton concluded.
